Our team went through a robot design presentation, and experimented with quite a few basic designs in LDD . Luckily, Lego maintains a page on designs. It is a great place to look for designs, and to place your own. Remember it is all about “coopertition”: we learn from others and we allow others to learn from us.
Some experimented teams and mentors spent many hours to put their designs in LDD. We are still working on ours.
It is simple. Look-up for your piece or search it in the LDD menu, put pins on it and move it with the mouse/touch-pad in its desired place. If you have gears that you want to mesh it is a little bit more complicated. One has to use the hinge tool from LDD menu.
